Netbooks running Moblin 2.0 Linux coming soon

Netbooks running Moblin 2.0 Linux coming soo

Intel Open Source Technology Center, said Imad Sousou, the manufacturer announced netbooks running Moblin 2.0 launch in the next two weeks will. The news came from an interview with ZDNet UK, where Sousou discussed the current state of Moblin Linux. The operating system is optimized for use on netbooks, particularly those with low-power processors like the Intel Atom, and small screens with resolutions of 1024 x 600 pixels or lower.

Originally, Intel was the driving force behind Moblin, and still has style. But management of the project has been handed over to the Linux Foundation. But the custom Linux distribution will also play netbooks by introducing power-saving features, fast boot-time optimizations for nuclear and other processors, and a unique user interface made it easy, a netbook almost more than a web-based consumer electronics device is treated as a computer.

It is not clear that Sousou says netbooks will soon be executed, straight-up Moblin, is used as a complete Linux distribution in its own right, or another operating system, which Moblin technology. A number of projects including Linpus Linux, Fedora, Ubuntu and Xandros have announced they’re working on Moblin integrating functions into its operating systems.

Shuttle launches Atom powered all-in-one desktop with OpenSUSE Linux

Shuttle launches Atom powered all-in-one desktop with OpenSUSE Linux

Compact computer maker Shuttle has been offering Linux desktops for a while, and barebone systems with no operating system at all. Perhaps it should come as no surprise that the company is the latest all-in-one desktop with Linux. But I’m always surprised a little.

The shuttle X500V is a dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Atom 330 CPU, 1 GB of RAM and a 160 GB hard drive – all the information you expect the delivery of a computer with Windows XP. But instead, it runs OpenSUSE 11.1 Linux.

The computer measures about 15.4 “12,9″ x 1.4″ and features a 15.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel touchscreen display, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Ethernet, VGA output (for a second monitor, I suppose), and 5 USB ports. It is not in the United States.

Nokia Sparrow multi-core computer running Linux

Nokia Sparrow multi-core computer running Linux

ARM’s Multi-Core Chip Sparrow was announced just last week, and Nokia is already working on the first compact mobile computer with a few blow-out data, Linux OS on this CPU. But not your hopes – this Nokia device is planned for 2011 release.
Eldar has to play with the first prototypes and is mighty interesting.

The design of the Nokia device Sparrow Netbook not the current trend of more half-way, with some resemblance to Nokia N800 Internet Tablet.

It will have multi-slide keyboard, with various layouts key shows you how to push them in different directions. The display pages in different directions for different functions – think Nokia N97 Tilt display.

The new Nokia-based computer has a very interesting keyboard with diamond-shaped, raised buttons inverted to each other. At first glance, it seems very uncomfortable – the buttons are quite small (about half as large as normal key), the device itself actually is quite small. But if you start thinking about it, it works very well. It is very difficult to meet several key with a finger, even on purpose.

The Nokia Sparrow computer has a novel, transparent widget-based interface. Each application gets its own semi-transparent widget to view its contents in. Several applications can be stored in memory “for months”. For example, when writing a document or e-mail, only with Swipe your finger across the screen and semi-transparent panels with active or pre-set applications and content pop-up. Select one and you can use it at once.

Well, it is now. I asked our Ilinca to some of the musings before. What with all the things in the translation is lost, and not really very exhaustive description of visual Eldar, I am sure it is quite far from reality

The company against the release of all the Linux machines in the United Kingdom, rather than for Windows. Indeed, the Mini 1000, announced at the rear end of the year 2008, is only to be released, as the Vivienne Tam Edition flowers – nice if you have a spare bag, not good if you are male and want to prevent that the center of Office gossip. There is the way to more subdued Compaq Mini 700, but even this only in the Windows flavor. If you want Linux, you’re looking at 2133 Mini-Note, but as this is almost a year old, you can elsewhere.

The reason for this anti-Linux stance? Well, it seems that the manufacturers believe the consumer caution from one operating system, which is not as popular as Windows, so the statement that the HP Compaq 700 and HP Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam Edition better on the market and the needs the consumer. Someone must say that HP, the best seller of the lot, the Acer Aspire One is a Linux machine.
