Toshiba Mini NB205-N230 Review
The Toshiba Mini NB205 is getting to be typical netbook: a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom Processor, 1 GB DDR2 RAM, you know the drill-the perfect platform for you see how Windows 7 for netbooks scales. Typical, though it may be, has the Toshiba NB205 mini a few wrinkles, they differ from the package. I’m going to highlight these, and give you my take on Windows 7 starter as a netbook OS.

Keyboard and Touchpad: The nearly full-size keyboard and a large, three-inch-wide touch pad also fits fingers grope user like me.
Hard Drive: To survive in the K-12 Education has to market a netbook bashing backpack, so I for less spacious, but durable to withstand Solid State Drives. This model offers the best of both worlds with an impact-resistant 250 GB hard drive, which detects sudden movement and parks immediately to the netbook is stabilized.

Webcam/Skype: The netbook does not come with many pre-installed applications, but it does Skype have on board, ready to use their ,3-megapixel webcam for video conferencing. This is not atypical, but in contrast to some Linux netbooks, the hardware-software combo actually works. I like it.
Battery life: This has up to 9 hours after a light, six-cell battery.
Sound: With only one speaker is located in the front bottom of the device, it is the weakest sound quality of a netbook I’ve tested. In a classroom situation, however, this could actually be an advantage.

Windows 7 Starter Edition
What do you get in Windows 7 Starter is a super-skeletal iteration of the OS. There are no Microsoft Office applications, no shiny Aero visual effects, know no Movie Maker, not a media center, nothing. Heck, you can not even the wallpaper. Basically, it’s only to tease, to update you to a more powerful version. Even circumcised seemed to Windows 7 starters this netbook really tax system resources, with power up around 1.5 minutes, and seemed to generally sluggish when opening applications.
Despite my reservations about Windows 7 starters on a Netbook, Toshiba NB205 mini-N230 is definitely a good little machine. If you say no to get one, consider loading it with an open-source software such as OpenOffice, Firefox and VLC media player, and thanks to the Windows 7 Upgrade offers.
