Asus is known for its exclusive netbook lineup, but they also have good quality laptops from different categories in an affordable price. The latest UL80VT is a laptop in the thin and light category with professionals who are looking for a decent laptop with good battery life implementation, but still not be burdened with their weight while traveling with her is addressed. The UL80VT is really in a position to serve those needs with their 10 hours of battery life and Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB of RAM with Nvidia graphics. Design

The design provides for precious secured on the outside with the entirety of their shiny plastic surface with aluminum cover. Display

The display is good, size 14 “shows a 1366 X 768 pixels with 16: 9 aspect ratio. The screen is an excellent with a brilliant brightness but as with every other glossy screens, they suffered from the problem of glare in bright lighting. The contrast levels are also not very good and the colors sometimes seemed to be hidden. The horizontal angles were very good on the screen a few shares, but the vertical viewing angle is not up to the mark.

Graphics

The system comes with a dedicated graphics card from Nvidia for high-performance graphics and integrated graphics card if you want to save some electricity. The Nvidia GeForce G210 M is a standard graphics card with 512 MB of GDDR3 memory. It just runs all the older games with high settings. But run the latest 3D games shrink in order to play comfortably the settings to a certain extent on the games. The gaming performance seemed enough for me, because the expected buyers of this laptop will not be games all day long. If you want to save some electricity, you can use the integrated Intel GMA 4500 MHD.

Keyboard

The chicklet keyboard is one or island style keyboard like the HP ProBook 4510s, we reviewed earlier. While we liked the splash-resistant keyboard HP Probook series, we do not have the same feeling with this keyboard. The keys feel relaxed while typing and not enough tactile feedback, which is still accompanied by short key travel. Keyboard flex is also a problem in Asus UL 80 VT.

TouchPad

The touchpad is glossy, which makes your fingers glide over the touchpad makes the movement a bit more difficult on the device. The touchpad buttons are of a piece as the volume rocker buttons linked to cell phones. This makes the click action difficult, and we would split the traditional double-key system as their preference. We had the keys on the extreme left or right edges press to get the easy clicks.

Sound

The speakers are Altec Lansing and we expect very good quality, but it failed to deliver one. That sounds not deliver much volume, or volume, and sounded tinny speakers Asus netbook. A good headset for the music lovers, as always, is recommended.

Ports

The UL80VT has a power jack, VGA out, HDMI, 2 USB, mic and headphone jacks on the left side and a DVD SuperMulti drive, a card reader, another USB, Ethernet port on the right side. There are no ports on the front or back. While HDMI and card readers are welcome, we would like to see the Kensington lock slot, which is common on any modern laptop and other USB port it especially when you consider that they have not integrated Bluetooth. Eat a Bluetooth dongle, would a USB port anyway.

Battery Life

The system comes with eight cells a large battery, which lasted for an astonishing ten hours with little or no use in the power saving mode and screen brightness turned low. Screen with high brightness and heavy-duty expect that this system for more than six hours, without the power plug required to run in order to be connected to it.

Conclusion

We actually like the performance of the Asus UL 80 VT and hope every thin and light notebook could offer the same performance in its price class, but to our disappointment, we found the processing of the notebook very poor to recommend it to the business traveler. The battery life is simply awesome, but again, not to please us with its poor keyboard and mouse. If you do not care much about them the laptop is to give you recommended for the very good performance and stellar battery life.
