Microsoft Launches Windows 7 in Pakistan

Microsoft has initiated a joint venture formed to contain a number of products that Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 introduced in a ceremony held earlier.

The international launch, which is reflected as “The New Efficiency to the motto,” Microsoft thought leadership on a global scale and is targeted at businesses and consumers who are looking to do more with less. Sheriff Seddik, General Manager of Microsoft North Africa, Eastern Mediterranean and Pakistan, commented on new initiatives from Microsoft: “In today’s environment with difficult economies are companies trying to make the best use of their resources and budgets.

The opening ceremony began with a seminar where speakers from Microsoft presented the new products, key personnel from Pakistan IT industry and discusses the features and advantages of the new offerings from Microsoft. Warid Telecom Pakistan, a mobile telecommunications company, has already been activated on the benefits of Windows Server 2008 by maximizing the availability and energy efficiency in its call centers in Pakistan. To improve the workflow, based Warid will use a virtual desktop infrastructure to Windows Server 2008 R2 and Hyper-V. Javed Mushtaq, Chief Information Officer, Warid Telecom, commented, “We have a 20 percent decline in our investment and expect a 62 percent decline in operating expenses by cutting capacity, support and hardware costs associated with the Hyper-V solution.”
