Chevy outfits cars with 3G-to-Wi-Fi hotspots
Chevrolet is now the latest car manufacturer in the U.S., the roving Internet access to accommodate their vehicles. The Avalanche, Equinox, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe and Traverse have all now be an after-sale option of Autonet router, a 1.5 Mbps connection even when the speed is available.
Like the Chrysler option that accomplishes the feat by sharing a 3G connection via a local Wi-Fi hotspot shares that connection with the passengers and the radius in a 150-foot.
Service costs $ 29 per month and requires a dealer to install, but the router itself will cost $ 199 to a two-year contract, if purchased before the end of the year. It usually costs $ 399.
