Gateway (now owned by Acer) hops on the 11.6-inch LCD screen, train (started by Acer) with the LT3100 Netbook.
Yes, that is correct. The LT3100 offers a single-core AMD Athlon 64 L110 CPU runs at 1.2 GHz, ATI Radeon X1270 graphics and 2 GB of memory. The screen has a 1366×768 resolution.
Prices start at $ 399 (MSRP), so that the machine falls into the same category as the current Acer 11.6-inch offering, the Atom-based Aspire One 751st The LT3100 weighs at 3.14 pounds and about an inch thick.
From the looks of the press release, this model comes standard with a six-cell battery, which is good for up to five hours. With a few Atom-based Netbook clearing of the eight hours at the mark with a six-cell battery, we hope that the Gateway AMD version packs a little more wallop to the somewhat shorter battery.
